The Sunken City of Kekova
Highlights are a boat trip to Simena village - Tersane Bay - Kekova ruins - Aperlai
We’ll be picking you up early morning and taking you to the neighbouring village of Ucagiz, where our boat awaits. This tour includes sites seldom visited on Daily Boat Tours so you’re in for a true treat. Our route takes us along local bays before we stop off at the area once known as ‘Simena’, where ancient and modern history meet. Here, we’ll explore the ruins of Kekova’s sunken city, still visible beneath the water’s surface. Next stop is Tersane Bay, where shrines and Roman Temples still stand on the sandy coast of the Mediterranean. Lunch will be served on the boat before we resume our journey to our final destination: the undisclosed site of Aperlai. Virtually unknown by the masses of tourists that visit Lycia every year, Aperlai is a huge archaeological site atop on a hill. Said hill encloses a turquoise bay in which there is a third sunken island, which lies waiting to be discovered beneath the waves.
